City Hall Station
This was one of my projects from my Design II class where we had to take a photo of an abandoned place, and create a sort of urban exploration flyer. I decided to go with an abandoned train station in New York City, utilizing nothing but colored pencil, and a sharpie for the black border.
Chester Bennington Playing Card
This was a project for my Design I class, we had to create a playing card of a celebrity and pick between Jester, Queen, or King and pick between Art Deco , Art Nouveau and Pop Art, I decided to go with Art Deco and pick one of my idols, Chester Bennington the lead singer of Linkin Park. This is one of my personal favorite pieces because I felt accomplished in what I created for one of my longtime idols. This was created with Color Pencil and Black Sharpie.
Cardboard Mike Shinoda
This was another project but for Design II, where we picked an idol/celebrity and created a simplified version of a photo of them, utilizing gouache, one white cardboard, three grays, one black and the cardboard ridges. We first designed a sort of blueprint mapping of the color breakdowns, and then precisely cut the cardboard. We then applied gouache to where we created the outline of what color goes where. This was a very long project and took multiple days to create, and is hands down one of my favorite pieces of all time. This was created with cardboard and gouche.
Freakshow Poster
This was the final project for my Design I class. This piece involved creating a vintage Freakshow poster, that you'd see at a circus. We had to create a character that would fit the role. Mine was inspired by the clown from American Horror Story because I've always enjoyed creepy stuff and horror type stuff. So I decided to go with a sort of creepy character with my design. This was on a canvas utilizing acrylic paints.
Totem Pole Tattoo
During Design II, we had an assignment to create a totem pole type tattoo design, that reflects us and our interests, I decided to go with three different games that I very much enjoyed, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and Gears of Wars. I enjoyed how this one came out, with a little bit more clean up, I'd possibly consider getting it as a tattoo myself. This was created using colored pencils.
Paper Reflection
This was a simple assignment from my Design I class, we had to create a design from the paper, where we would cut the piece out and glue the piece we cut out and make it a reflection, and we would just keep doing that until we came up with either random art, or utilize that technique and create an art design from it. My teacher complimented me on this and called me an out of the box thinker, which is why I am showing off this piece. This was created with cut paper and glue.
Chinese Takeout Box
One of our assignments in our Design II class was to create a design on a Chinese takeout box and create a design that when it is folded into the box form, would create a design. I decided to go with creating a box, where it would look like a sushi roll when folded together. This was created utilizing colored pencil.
